The New Music Ensemble at Grand Valley State University is dedicated to bringing audiences the most significant music of our time. Founded in 2006 by its director Bill Ryan, the ensemble performs an incredible variety of music. From landmark compositions of the Twentieth Century, to the most recent works of this new century, their concerts are stimulating, entertaining and unpredictable.

Our National Parks Project announced! Touring the southwest United States April 27-May 6.

We perform the world premiere of Red Vesper, commissioned from composer David Biedenbender, at the Detroit Institute of Arts.

We make our third appearance at Strange Beautiful Music, New Music Detroit's annual 8-hour new music marathon.

Michael Langan's short film Choros, with our Music for 18 Musicians CD as the soundtrack, continues to make the film circuit rounds. Screenings in 2013 throughout the United States, Canada, Sweden, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.
